Summer Intensive ACT Classes
Dates: June 13 – July 20 (no classes July 1-6)
4 Proctored Practice Tests: Initial assessment test plus 3 more tests
Total Hours: 35 Hours of instruction in 14 Sessions
Cost: $975
Choose from the following two times:
- Class Session #1: MWF 9:00 – 11:30am
- Class Session #2: MWF 6:00 – 8:30pm
** An Assessment Test must be taken by May 14th for placement in a class
**Based on the results of the assessment test, students will be grouped into separate classes, primarily dependent on their math abilities
Students will:
- Master grammar rules, sentence structure and punctuation for the English Section
- Develop skills in finding the main idea and subtle inferences in complex reading passages
- Review experimental design and reasoning and learn logic and strategies for the Science Section
- Learn strategies to improve accuracy and speed on all sections
- Develop complex ideas and examples to support them. Plan, format, and write a high scoring essay
- Review number properties through pre-calculus for the Math Section***
- Learn strategies for making more effective use of the calculator
- Take 3 proctored full-length practice tests
Classes will be limited to 6 students.
Assignments will be given at every class to allow students to practice what they have learned.

*** Students will be split into 2 classes based on the assessment test. Class #1 will split their time between the 4 sections and the essay (and will include an comprehensive math review). Class #2 will focus on English, Reading and Writing. They will only do a very fast math review and cover only the toughest problems on the math section.

**Students must be very strong in critical reading and English to take this class
Dates: June 13 – July 20 (no classes July 1-6)

Choose from the following two times:

- Learn strategies to improve accuracy and speed on all sections
- Plan, develop, format and write a high scoring essay
- Review number properties through pre-calculus for the Math Section
- Strategies and practice for the no-calculator section
- Take 3 proctored full-length practice tests
Classes will be limited to 6 students.
Assignments will be given at every class to allow students to practice what they have learned.

Advanced Writing and Critical Reading Class
**Students must have completed a previous class or do a separate assessment to qualify for this class
Dates: July 25 – Sept 30 (will meet once a week in evenings, day TBD)
Total Hours: 30 Hours of instruction in 15 Sessions
Cost: $850
Students will:
- Complete advanced grammar and sentence structure exercises
- Analyze advanced reading passages for main idea and subtle ideas and answer advanced questions about them
- Develop complex ideas on a wide range of essay topics
- Complete multiple drafts of essays to improve writing skills and use of conventions
- Vocabulary assignments and specifically essay assignments involving use of vocabulary words in context. (Students need to use vocabulary words to master them and to retain them.)
Classes will be limited to 6 students.
Assignments will be given at every class to allow students to practice what they have learned. Detailed feedback will be given on writing assignments in order to dramatically improve students’ writing skills.
